On Friday, April 16th, there was the first-ever Tiverton High School Spring Pep Rally! Everybody piled into the gym and onto their bleachers. We got to recognize all of our athletes, and there were two competitions; the Freshmen and Junior classes won.
First up winter sports, we went through each sport, giving every student a chance to shine, their seniors announced their names and they all got to take a photo. We are incredibly proud of their whole season!! Next up we got to recognize our amazing Mock Trial team and all of their accomplishments this season. They managed to get full points in their competition!! Finally we got to recognize all of our spring sports, and wish them luck for the season. We hope they are able to win all their games and do amazing!!
Finally, it wouldn’t be a pep rally without a little friendly competition. We had two nail biters this time around a whistling contest and a rock paper scissors contest. With the whistling contest, each person gave their whistle and either stayed in, or got sent back. First up was the Sophomores, and then the freshmen who sent the sophomore back to their bleacher. The Juniors then got the freshmen out and then eventually beat the seniors. This claimed them their title as the whistling winners!! Next up was the rock paper scissors contest, very serious and worrying. The Freshmen first had to compete against each other to play,and then had to beat the juniors. At the same time the sophomores beat the seniors, sending them back to their benches. It all came down to the final round, sophomores and freshmen, it took three tries but eventually the Freshmen won!! This was their first win and a monumental moment for them.
We all had so much fun and were so happy for all of our athletes. We are happy for our freshmen and junior winners, and can’t wait to see what happens at the next Pep rally.
