As spring break rapidly approaches, many may be wondering what people typically do over the week off. Usually, this tends to be more exciting than February or Christmas break because there are more activities to indulge in. The sun is beginning to come out more, the weather is starting to be nicer (with less frigid temperatures), hence allowing people to get outside more and be in nature while taking a break from the busy hustle and bustle.
Typically, for me, I take a three day long trip to the Berkshires up in Massachusetts. It is right next to the mountain line, so from wherever you look, you are able to see the mountain range. The sights are just breathtaking, and the nature piece is even more fascinating. There is anything from waterfalls to trails and big trees, and even though it is nothing compared to the west, there is still that element of extremely beautiful nature that has not been taken down by modern human life.
Some other popular destinations include Florida (once again), visiting state parks, gardens, museums, and much more. People tend to visit warmer areas, especially if they are in a colder area, in order to catch some sun and have a glimpse of summer. Since families with multiple children tend to not take family vacations more than once a year, activities around the area such as the zoo and indoor facilities (like the arcade and children’s museums) may be at use to help entertain the kids when they are out of school.
Usually, for the rest of the week when I am not on my mini-vacation, I will take the time to catch up on life and do the things that need to be done on my to-do list. For instance, when I get back from said vacation this year, I will be working on scholarships and preparing for college (since it is rapidly approaching). People may also take the time to do spring clearing during their time off, as the break may feel like a reset and a push for the rest of the school year.
Overall, spring break is a great time to just take the time to unwind, whether you are taking a trip or not. With the warmer weather coming closer every day, the opportunities for outdoor activities become more expansive, and therefore, gives people the chance to immerse themselves in nature. I hope you all enjoy your spring break, and don’t spend it all inside. Whenever you get the chance, head outside!
