Tiverton High School recently put on a riveting Variety Show, displaying the talents of the 2026 seniors. Run by Carly Sousa, Mrs. Landoch and Ms. Carreiro, and narrated by Abi Darran and Courtnie Smith, this showcase was a display of events that have taken place throughout the school year, as well as showed some of the talents as well.
Some popular scenes included the “Blizzard of ‘26” which displayed the shoveling due to the recent blizzard, with the soundtrack of “Frozen Heart” from Frozen. There were also scenes depicting the AI usage in school, gym classes, and when a student fell through the ceiling garnering laughs. They also depicted our Assistant Principal, Mr. Arruda taking photos for his newsletter. Teachers were also a big part of the show, with videos showing them reacting to being called by their first names, asked to sign their own photos, and even do old timey dances!
Along with the skits and videos, students got to show their talents. This included the excellent Piano Man, played by Addie Pimentel and Sam Borden and sung by all the seniors together. As well as Tiverton’s own student band, AMP played a beautiful rendition of “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Now, along with this musical talent, there was a dance off between Carly Sousa and Mason Billings, of which Mason won, and a lesson by Mason Billings in his own language. There was also a scene where Jameson Schreiner showed his giant yo-yo talent. Last scene but most certainly not least was Tyler Pensak showing his backflip off to the school.
Now, no show is finished without its fun, and sometimes that means showing off the minor faults at your school. Commonly throughout the show, announcements were made, that bus four would be on bus five, and requesting someone to fix their car in the parking lot. These were minor jokes about announcements that happen sometimes four times a week at our school. Along with these there was the night bell ringing, three long beeps that will randomly interrupt the school day.
The Variety Show was an exciting, wonderful activity to attend, and we are so incredibly grateful and proud of all the students who made it happen.
