Do you like playing ping pong? Some people can just get lost in the rhythm of hitting the ball back and forth. If this sounds like you, or if you’re just looking for something to do after school on Thursdays, then the new ping pong club might be for you.
The ping pong club was created by sophomore Nicholas Monahan with the hopes of creating a welcoming environment where anyone can go and have fun. Following along with the goals of the club, there are no requirements to join outside of having a good attitude and wanting to play ping pong.
As of right now, there are no plans for competitions in the club, as it is currently a “casual play” club. However, there have been talks of doing an end-of-the-season competition in March, depending on how many people express interest in the ping pong club.
An important thing to note with the ping pong club currently is that it is in a testing period, and what events and such the club has will strongly depend on the amount of people who express interest in it in the upcoming month. It is important for people to express interest and go to club meets during this testing period, because if not, then the ping pong club has a chance of fading.
All in all, the ping pong club serves as a great outlet for having some casual fun after school, especially if one doesn’t have the proper means to play ping pong outside of school. Go give it a try!
