Threw this Prom 4 U:
With prom quite literally right around the corner, whispers have flooded the halls of Tiverton High School with hopes and wishes of good music at the momentous event. Music may seem like a miniscule thing when it comes to prom, and you may be thinking, “Who’s going to remember if the DJ played Goosebumps one too many times?” Well, the music at prom is actually extremely important, because you may not remember the music itself, or how you danced to it, but you ARE going to remember how it made you feel- and that feeling is going to be how you reflect and remember prom for the rest of your life. So, yes, music holds a lot more importance to the fundamental enjoyment of your night than you may think. It forms the soundtrack to a significant milestone event in your high school years, making it a core element of the prom experience and the memories you’ll have of it. Okay, now that I’ve established the emotional importance, it’s also integral to remember the criteria of a good prom playlist. Most of the people attending prom are looking to dance and have fun with their friends- yes, a few slow dance songs are important, but most teenagers want to hear songs they can dance to. So, I’ve spoken to a broad demographic of our school and composed a list of songs, fun and slow, that we want to hear at prom.
