With the 2024-25 school season in full swing it is time to spread some love for our new educators! Mr. Bayne, the new band director, is one of the newest members to the THS staff and is so excited to join the music department! He grew up in both Cranston and Warwick and attended Bishop Heddricken for high school and Salve Regina for college.
He grew up playing piano when he was little and picked up a trumpet in middle school band and fell in love with it. He has now been playing the trumpet for over 10 years and plays a bit of guitar! When asked “ What made you want to teach music? ” He responded that his own band directors were what encouraged him to pursue his career in music and hopes to do that for his students now. He hopes to increase involvement and push young musicians to be the best version of themselves.
Additionally, (although he enjoys teaching all classes) his favorite to teach is band he says “making music with all of the students in band is the highlight of my day.” Looking forward to this year he is excited to do more performances with the band at sport events, concerts, pep rally, and looks forward to meeting new students in other classes as well.
Some fun facts about Mr. Bayne is that he loves performing with his band of college friends and also golfing! Although he claims “ I’m not very good at it.” All in all, Mr. Baynes’ passion and love for music will lead to educational classes, and musical advancement!
