Track and Field
Ellery Pacheco: Ellery has been doing track for all four years of highschool, and her plans for this season are to have fun, and help build the program up some more since they have just received a generous grant for lots of new equipment. They hope to put it all to good use with the new freshmen. As for the team and her personal goals, she would like to see some more records broken, as well as potentially sending a few kids to the State Championship Meet! Her plans for after high school are to attend URI for Nursing, and potentially join a running club to further continue her running career!
Cooper Thomas: Cooper has also participated in track for all four years of high school and has been a captain for the last two. He is excited that the team is larger than in previous years and hopes they can use their size to perform better at meets. Personally, he hopes to improve his marks from the previous seasons and set school records for discus and shot put. After high school, he plans on attending college with the possibility of competing for his school’s track and field team.
Girls Lacrosse
Elyse Meyers: Elyse has been playing lacrosse her whole life! It is her favorite sport and she can’t wait to continue to play and further her lacrosse career in college. This season as a team they are obviously wanting to make it to the playoffs, but they also want to grow individually with both skills and confidence. After high school she will be attending Lasell University to major in Forensic Science and will also be playing lacrosse for the Lasell Lasers while being enrolled in the honors program!
Maeve McHugh: Maeve has been playing lacrosse for 10 years now, she really loves the sport and says she took to it a lot quicker than she did to basketball. She is committed to play lacrosse at Clark University in Worcester for the next four years. Additionally she’s majoring in political science and plans on going to law school! Maeve also plans on joining the mock trial team and meeting a bunch of new friends. For this season, her goal is to keep pushing, and show the teams that are confident in beating us that Tiverton fights back!
Lila Reimels: Lila has been playing lacrosse all of highschool, and with her final season coming to an end, her main goal is to end happy and healthy with a few wins under her belt. As a team they are trying their hardest to grow the best they can, learning from mistakes in games and working hard in practice to overcome challenges and build stronger bonds through the team. After high school Lila is attending Emerson College in Boston for political journalism and joining their dance team!
Boy Lacrosse
Aiden Champ: Aiden has been playing lacrosse since his freshman year and he says it has been the most fun he has had playing a sport and it’s one of his favorites. His goals for the lacrosse team this year is to try and win the State Championship and grow as a team. Aiden says he could personally care less about personal stats all he cares about is winning the game. After high school he is going to Mass Maritime to major in Emergency management and plans on playing football as well as lacrosse for the school.
Seth Aguiar: Seth has been playing lacrosse for eight years now consisting of all four years of highschool, and four years of youth lacrosse. His plan for this season is to make it as far as they can and just try to have fun. He doesn’t have many goals as a team besides to all get along and play hard and play to win. His plans for after highschool is joining the pipefitters union.
Golf
Caleb McConnell: Caleb has been playing golf for four years, and his plan for the season is to improve his own game so that he can play better golf going forward. He feels like golf is a sport where you improve over time, so he decided to play throughout high school not to compete for state tournaments, but to enjoy the game and develop skills to enjoy playing in the future. Their team hopes to make the playoffs this year for golf, but it will be difficult seeing as they play teams like Barrington, Portsmouth, and East Providence who have much bigger teams. They have the smallest team in the school, but every one of them have been friends since elementary school, and all agree that playing golf was one of the best decisions they have made in highschool. Caleb plans to attend the University of Rhode Island for the next four years, and to play golf as much as he can during this time. He also hopes to continue playing golf for the rest of his life, and to just enjoy his memories on the course.
