The time has come for the end of senior projects! With summer right around the corner it’s important to acknowledge all the hard work we have put into this year. I got the privilege to talk to some of the AP art students and Mr. Tracy about their end of year portfolios and projects. I got to hear about some of the themes, such as Jada Peter’s portfolio about mental health and got to talk to other students such as Nenita Bebe about her experience in general art class.
Everyone I have talked to has really enjoyed the art departments array of classes and the freedom of creativity for their projects. Nenita praised Tracy’s ability to run a class while still leaving creative freedom one hundred percent up to the students. Concerning AP portfolios having to stay on theme was said to be a struggle for some considering you have to come up with many pieces all related to one thing. But it also leaves the theme up to the student to do with it whatever they like. Now in the Commons area, you can see beautiful pieces done by Aliza, Meave, Rachel, Jada, Selena, and many others for their AP portfolio as well as Nenita and Alec with their display of art outside of their portfolio. Overall, it is important to reflect and acknowledge all the hard work we have put into our classes this year! Happy summer! And congrats to all graduating seniors!
